Behavior Support Coach/Mentor

Under the supervision of the management team, Coyote Coast Behavior Coach/Mentor provides one on one behaviorally focused mental health services to teen and young adult clients who participate in Coyote Coast Programs.

Responsibilities:
-
In collaboration with Program Supervising Clinician, provide time-limited behaviorally-focused mental health support services to clients and their families.

Engage youth in constructive, skill building activities toward self-exploration and expression and social and emotional development
-
Participate in treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and IEP meetings when necessary.
-
Maintain caseload of 5 clients (typical time commitment per client is 2.5-3 hours per week including travel time).

When demand is present, facilitate teen groups and provide milieu support during weekend activities as per schedule
-
Complete treatment plans, functional behavioral assessments, progress notes, monthly reports, termination reports and other required paperwork.

Complete all required program and agency paperwork in a timely manner, meeting all program and agency expectations.

Maintain close communication with all treatment team members.
-
Participate in weekly individual and group supervision.
-
Attend and participate in all trainings as assigned.
-
Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing Coyote Coast’s mission and philosophy.

All other duties assigned by supervisor or Coyote Coast Management.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree required.
-
Must be at least 21 years of age.
-
Experience in working with children and their families in a variety of mental health settings, preferred experience includes: school, agency, day treatment, residential facility, or wilderness therapy.
-
Background in managing boundary and risk issues with teens and young adults in community based settings
-
Personal interest in sports, music and other extracurricular activities for youth engagement, a plus
-
Ability and willingness to work independently in the community.

CPR/First Aid or willingness and ability to obtain
-
Fulfillment of fingerprinting and state/federal clearance
-
Valid California Driver's License, clean driving record, vehicle and active auto insurance
Hours:

Flexible schedule required, with the ability to work evening and occasional weekends.

Provide office and/or community based individual therapy to teens and young adults.

Engage teen/young adult clients in constructive, skill building activities in support self-exploration and expression and social and emotional development

Operate within the ethical and legal guidelines established by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing Coyote Coast’s mission and philosophy.
Qualifications:
-
Completed Masters Level Education in related field
-
Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences toward licensure
-
At least one year of experience serving youth and their families. Preferred experience includes; school, agency, day treatment, residential facility, or wilderness therapy
-
Background in managing boundary and risk issues with teens and young adults in community based settings
-
Personal interest in sports, music and other extracurricular activities for youth engagement, a plus
-
Demonstrated skills and interest in coordinating a broad range of clinical services
-
Ability to work assertively with both clients and collaborating professionals
-
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
-
Able to work with families of diverse backgrounds
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
CPR/First Aid or willingness and ability to obtain
-
Valid California Driver's License, clean driving record, vehicle and active auto insurance
-
Fulfillment of fingerprinting and state/federal clearance
